A private version of Ancient Trails through Iceland's story-rich Highlands, shaped around your group, pace, travel dates, and comfort level.

Private Ancient Trails keeps the soul of our signature hut-to-hut journey: old Highland routes, geothermal valleys, glacier views, remote huts, and Icelandic storytelling. The difference is that the guide, timing, pace, and logistics are built around your own group instead of a scheduled departure.

Highlights

  • Travel the Ancient Trails route privately with your own Icelandic guide and storyteller.
  • Shape the pace, hut rhythm, start date, and logistics around your group's experience level.
  • Walk quieter Highland routes away from Iceland's busiest trekking corridors.
  • Keep the supported Norse format: luggage transfer, meals, huts, safety planning, and mountain transport.
  • Add extra time for hot springs, photography, folklore, or a slower Highland pace when conditions allow.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How is the private Ancient Trails trek different from the scheduled trip?

The private trek follows the same Norse approach to the Highlands, but the date, pace, guide rhythm, pickup plan, and daily emphasis are shaped around your own group instead of a fixed scheduled departure.

Can the route or daily distances be adjusted?

Yes, within the real limits of hut availability, Highland roads, safety, and weather. We can usually shape the balance between hiking distance, photography time, geothermal stops, and story-focused guiding before the trip is confirmed.

Is luggage support included?

Private Ancient Trails is designed as a supported hut-to-hut trek. You normally carry a daypack while main luggage, food, sleeping bags, and logistics are handled by the Norse team.

What group size works best?

Private groups are best kept small so the experience stays personal and the Highland logistics remain smooth. Tell us your group size, hiking background, and preferred dates, and we will recommend the right guide and support setup.

How do we request a quote?

Send your preferred travel dates, number of travelers, hiking experience, and any comfort or accommodation requirements. We will confirm availability, route options, and private pricing before anything is booked.
